It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas. Before Thanksgiving it was hard to think about Christmas; we were feeling a bit humbug about it around our house. It's too early! It's too commercial! It's crazy to get so crazy about the holidays! But we tore a page off the calendar and now it's December. We've put a few of our favorite decoraions out; our clock chimes the hour with the 12 days of Christmas. I got a good start on my Christmas letter and wonder of wonders I found a bunch of Christmas cards I made in Januaary! Another pleasant realization is that because I've been picking up gifts all through the year when I saw something special or had an idea that I'm pretty much done with the shopping too! Tomorow there is a little snow in the forcast to really get us in the mood! I always thought of the phrase "hope springs eternal" as something that refers to nature coming back to life in the springtime. But let's hope that Christmas springs eternal as well... and that each year at Christmas we can renew our hope in peace on earth; good will toward men and do our part to bring it to pass.
