The Happy News is ......Choose a Mascot. A mascot is anything that represents the character and spirit of a unit. It becomes a tangible symbol of the affection one has for the unit itself. Every home, office, classroom or team should have one. Even when we fail, our mascot is there to remind us that we stand for something bigger than our failure. I am so proud to share “the happy news” that my group of business partners is officially an Avon Unit and I am the Unit Leader. I have chosen for our mascot “The Bee”. Bees have lots of attributes that I admire. They are good communicators and they are very industrious. They work primarily in the area of their talent and let other work in theirs. Their work not only benefits themselves and their hive but also ripples out to benefit the plant and animal kingdoms through pollination. And amazingly enough scientists have proven that aerodynamically speaking bees should not be able to fly but they do! I really like that because many people are always ready to tell us that what we want to accomplish is impossible but if we have Faith and persistence we can achieve more than we can imagine.
So choose your mascot and use it as an inspiration and a motivation to follow your dreams. And watch out for my Avon Lady Bees we're headed for the top!
