Setting your Intentions
for 2013
Happy people don't make
resolutions for the new year... they state their intentions and set
goals and make plans for accomplishing their goals.
Here's a great way to give
yourself the best chance of making your 2013 goals a reality:
First write down what
you want. This is your goal.
Next jot down 3
reasons why it would be worth it to you to have your goal.
Finally list 9 action
steps that you are willing to commit to that will move you toward
achieving your goal. That's it! Oh yea, don't forget to actually do
your action steps! No matter what some people say “thinking about
it isn't the same as doing it!!!”
I have set goals for 2013 in
a couple different areas of my life for 2013. My personal goal is to
exercise and to lose the rest of my excess weight. It would be worth
it to me to continue to improve my health, to set a good example for
other people in my life and to complete what I started in 2010 when I
lost 92 lbs. My action steps are as follows:
start 12/28/12 doing
yoga 4 times a week
keep a food journal,
weigh in weekly
eat 3 vegetables and 1
fruit with my evening meal
stop eating at 7 p.m.
walk on my breaks when
I'm at the office
reward myself with a
new outfit when I lose 25 lbs
add some strength
training to my exercise routine after I have completed 4 weeks of
yoga
